PRE-K:

Waterford.org: Waterford Upstart Summer Learning Path- Summer Learning Path is an at-home PreK learning program for children the summer before kindergarten. Your child will love learning with fun activities that teach reading, math, and more—all at no cost to you. They offer tech-supported translation in many languages (over 100) for parents via phone support. Coaches are available who speak English and Spanish.  Eligible Families that participate will receive a  free Dell laptop per household if needed, that they can keep at the end of the program as well as the Internet for free if/as needed. ENTERING KINDERGARTEN:

Summer Start:– Summer Start registration is now OPEN! Summer Start is a FREE 5-week, half-day program for four- and five-year-old children entering the Stamford Public Schools (SPS) who have not had a complete preschool experience.   The Summer Start experience can help lessen the anxiety and stress some children feel when starting kindergarten. There are many factors that present challenges and gaps in a child’s learning experience. Before entering formal learning in the Stamford Public Schools, SPEF wants to ensure that each child has the opportunity to enjoy a safe, fun, and nurturing Pre-K learning experience. SPORTS:

Grassroots Tennis & Education: Grassroots Tennis Summer Program is held at Cummings park in Stamford from June 27 to August 12.  Pickup application forms at their Norwalk office, 11 Ingalls Avenue, Norwalk, CT.  Provides Scholarships. 

Stamford Peace Foundation: Youth Basketball Summer League.  Children learn the fundamentals of basketball while improving their skills at any level in a fun and safe environment thanks to their top-notch curriculum. Stamford Recreation: Day Camp, Playground & Activity Program.  Financial Assistance Available

Stamford YMCA:  Most camp activities will be indoors with limited outings.  Stamford YMCA’s summer program engaged students in activities that support their physical and emotional development including sports, arts & crafts, dance, STEM activities, and swim lessons. Campers develop intangible life skills that include negotiation, collaboration, and active listening.  Financial Assistance Available.

RF Youth Boxing: coaches use the art of boxing to promote health and wellness, encourage confidence, and build leadership skills.

 

MIDDLE SCHOOL TRADE PROGRAM:

Summer Exploratory Program: In partnership with the Justice Education Center Inc, JM Write Technical School will be offering rising 7th and 8th graders a  exploratory program from June 22nd to June 30th. Students will have the opportunity to explore four trade programs. They will gain knowledge of the technology through experiential learning. MUSIC & ART:

Ballet School of Stamford:  various summer programs for students ages 7-20 throughout the summer. These programs are designed to allow students opportunities to grow and have fun

Curtain Call: Curtain Call’s Summerstock and Summerstock Junior are full-day, conservatory-style workshop programs in dramatic and musical theatre arts. Students hone creative, collaborative and social skills as well as performance skills. Each session runs two weeks and accommodates a maximum of 40 students. Those students are then placed in age-appropriate groups for a rotating schedule of study in a variety of performance subjects under a team of specialized instructors. Scholarships cover up to 50% of any workshop tuition.

Intempo: Summer instrumental and choir lessons camp for children ages 6 through 17.  Children gained exposure to instruments such as percussion, guitar, and ukulele. Children also learned how to move their bodies to Latin American dance as well as how to digitally produce music (middle school). In addition to music, students were also supported with academic enrichment in literacy and STEM.  Financial Assistance Available.

Palace Theater:  Triple Threat Performer Summer Camp. July 10th – July 21st, 2023. Under the inspiring direction of Luis Salgado, Broadway Assistant Choreographer of the Tony-winning show “In the Heights” and Director/Choreographer for “Cirque du Soleil’s Paramour”, “On Your Feet” & “Ragtime”, the exciting two- weeks will immerse students in the dynamic process of Acting, Singing and Dancing.  Financial Assistance Available.

 

NATURE:

Soundwaters: Sailing and marine adventure on the shore of Long Island Sound.  Children explore the Long Island Sound habitat through meaningful science experiments and adventures. They assess water quality and learn about the kinds of animals calling Long Island Sound home.  Scholarships available.

The Maritime Aquarium: Young campers will explore the wonders of the ocean world through fun stories and games. Older kids will learn how technology and engineering can solve complex environmental problems like water pollution, marine debris, and storm resiliency. FOOD INDUSTRY:

Nora’s Ovenworks: Camp for grades 1st to 6th. This is a very hands on & hands in Camp! Baking is Science, Math, and Art combined into one edible project.
