The Season of Giving
The Giving Season is here!
This is a time of year when community members are encouraged to help others in need, especially children. To further their missions, nonprofit organizations are seeking volunteers, Christmas donations for children, in-kind donations and other forms of support from the community (you!). Below you will find a list of ways you can make a difference.
Building One Community
Building One Community’s Annual Holiday Toy Drive needs your support so that they can deliver holiday cheer to all of the B1C children 0-12 years old!
Join us in the spirit of giving and visit their Amazon registry here to select a toy for children in need.
November 26 is the deadline.
Family Centers Holiday Toy Chest
Family Centers is seeking donations of toys. Click here to view a wishlist of items (sorted by age) requested by their families. Or, use their Amazon Wishlist and have toys sent directly to Family Centers! Monetary donations (which will be used to purchase toys) can also be made here or by texting TOYCHEST to 41444.
They are asking that all toys remain unwrapped and be dropped off at Family Centers’ offices (40 Arch Street in Greenwich or 60 Palmers Hill Road in Stamford) by Friday, December 1.
They are also seeking donations of wrapping paper, gift boxes/bags, ribbons and bows, tags, and tape.
Volunteer! Please consider joining us on December 9 to make the Holiday Toy Chest extra special. Volunteers are needed to wrap gifts, check in families, staff gift stations, help families shop, lead activities for children, and serve refreshments. This is a great opportunity for families to volunteer together and give back to the community. Please note, volunteers are asked to commit to a 3-hour shift.

Person-to-Person Holiday Toy Drive
Each year, Person to Person (P2P) hosts its Annual Holiday Toy Store, a heartwarming event that helps ensure 2,000 children from lower-income families experience the joy of the holiday season. At the Holiday Toy Store, parents can select a toy, a book, and a stuffed animal for each of their children as well as a family board game. This initiative helps alleviate the financial strain on parents, allowing them to provide gifts to their children without compromising on essential expenses. P2P’s Holiday Toy Store unites the community to bring joy to every child, regardless of their financial situation.
