Thursday, March 14, 2024 6-7:30pm

50 families gathered at the Boys & Girls Club in March. This was SC2C’s third multi-lingual event for families and our highest turnout to date!
4 speakers share information on how to advocate for: children requiring special education, housing & tenant rights, policy change, and their child.
SC2C Parent Ambassadors emceed the night sharing their own stories while introducing our series of speakers.

Friday, April 5, 2024 5-8:00pm

191 teens attended our 3-hour event at the Boys & Girls Club Gymnasium organized by our five youth interns
Over 20 different schools from Stamford to Norwalk were represented by attendees
Over 30 local organizations tabled offering teens information on scholarships, colleges, internship opportunities and other resources helping youth in Stamford
81% of teens surveyed said they found the event useful
72% of teens surveyed said they would recommend it to their friends

Tuesday, April 9th, 8:30am-12:00pm

100 attendees joined us at the First Presbyterian Church to hear keynote speaker Richard Harwood talk about the importance of using common goals to reduce community division.
Over 40 different community organizations were in attendance
3 breakout sessions offered participants the chance to learn more about our Full-Service Community Schools work, how to maximize policy and advocacy efforts, and a special executive session with Richard Harwood
87% of participants surveyed said they were more informed after attending.
