Empowering Families: Special Education Resources Event Recap
We recently hosted an informative session with Christine Lai and Stephanie Rinker from the Special Education Legal Fund (S.E.L.F) on May 1st at J.M. Wright Tech High School in Stamford.
This valuable event was specifically designed to equip under-resourced families with the knowledge, resources, and support needed to effectively advocate for their children’s special education needs.
What Participants Learned:
- Understanding their child’s rights in special education
- Navigating the often complex special education process
- Accessing available resources and support systems
- Developing effective advocacy strategies for their children
Parents and caregivers left empowered with practical tools to ensure their children receive the educational support they deserve. This knowledge is truly transformative for families navigating special education services.
