Martin Luther King Jr. Family Craft 

Saturday, January 13 2024. From 10:30am to 11:30am

  • Celebrate Dr. King by creating a scroll depicting his six principles of nonviolence.
  • Location: South End Branch
  • Age Group: All ages

 

MLK Day of Service

Saturday, January 13 2024. From 10:00am to 2:00pm

Service projects will include:

  • writing letters to military troops
  • collecting and shipping items to the troops (via Operation Gratitude)
  • making Valentine’s Day cards for the seniors
  • designing and distributing thank you cards for first responders
  • making Kindness Messages and Rocks
  • creating Stop Climate Change posters
  • collecting non-perishable foods for a local Food Drive

  • Commemorate Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a screening of Selma, the 2014 award-winning biopic that chronicles Dr. King’s campaign to secure equal voting rights through an epic march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama, in 1965.
  • Location: Harry Bennett Branch
  • Age Group: All ages

 

Monday, January 15 2024. From 3:00pm to 5:15pm

Book Bunch Club is back! We will read and discuss Happy Birthday, Martin Luther King by Jean Marzollo and do an activity based on the book.
